Prioritising Health Services – threats and opportunities
26 April 2007
Birmingham
This Faculty of Public Health sponsored conference aims to bring together public health practitioners who have an interest in health service provision and quality.
The conference supports the need for greater public health engagement in priority setting, commissioning and quality assurance in the context of healthcare provision within NHS organisations.
Many of us in this field work in different settings and would benefit from networking nationally. It is anticipated that this conference will provide individuals with the opportunity to meet, establish ongoing networks and share experience and expertise with colleagues with similar work interests and challenges.
The conference is aimed at:
- directors of public health
- consultants and specialists in primary care trusts, local health boards and health and social services boards
- practice based commissioners
- provider organisations
- and academic institutions.
- Pharmacists leading on medicines management and practice based commissioners working alongside public health departments may also find this useful.
Programme sessions are likely to include:
- Best practice in priority setting
- Managing individual funding requests
- Top tips on how to find web-based information
- The relevance of public health in a world of practice based commissioning and foundation trusts
- Exploring disinvestment / investment opportunity
A networking meal to be held on the evening of the 25 April.
