Conference Soapbox – Have your say!

Is there a piece of research or practice you would like to share with others? Do you have views on the conference programme? Would you like to have your say on FPH policies?

This year you will have the opportunity to express yourself on any of the above via the conference ‘soapbox’. During the three days of the Annual Conference you will have the chance during the refreshment breaks to record your say.

The filmed pieces will then be shown in another area of the conference where other delegates can view them and add to the debate.

If you wish to take part please go to the conference registration desk for more information.

Lunchtime presentations

There will be additional short presentations held during the lunchtime breaks on Tuesday 3 June and Wednesday 4 June which all delegates are welcome to attend. Details of these are below:

Tuesday 3 June - 1.15pm
Emergency planning on military operations: An epidemic of injuries

Martin Bricknell, Chief Medical Adviser, Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps

Wednesday 4 June - 1.15pm
Health protection in Europe 2008-2013

Angus Nicoll, Senior Expert, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

Poster forums

The poster forums will take place during 4 designated refreshment breaks over the course of the conference. During each forum the authors of a group of posters will be present at their poster for delegates to discuss their work with them. The posters which were accepted through the submission process have been split into their groups according to topicality/relevance to the sessions on the conference programme for that day.

A list of the poster subject areas will be available in the conference programme which delegates will receive upon regististring. All posters will be available for viewing in the main catering area throughout the confernce.

Breakfast networking

Once again we will be running breakfast networking sessions on the mornings of Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th June. These are an opportunity for members to meet informally and discuss various topics of interest.

If you have a particular topic you would like to discuss with others at either of the breakfast sessions could you please contact Karen Tidy (karentidy@fph.org.uk) by Friday 9 May 2008. Please state which day you would prefer to host your discussion. A list outlining the topics being covered in both sessions will be circulated to delegates prior to the start of the conference and will be displayed at the registration desk.
