Dr Fiona Adsead, Director, Department of Chronic Disease and Health Promotion, WHO
Dr Fiona Adshead is the new director at the Department of Chronic Disease and Health Promotion at the World Health Organization. She gave a thought-provoking and stimulating lecture on her new role at WHO, and the challenges posed by global chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease and diabetes. Dr Adshead also outlined the opportunities and challenges for health promotion in reducing the burden of these diseases.
