Call for submissions
Deadline – Monday 15 December 2008
We invite you to submit your proposals for the Faculty of Public Health annual conference to be held in Scarborough from 16-18 June 2009.
Our aim is to create a conference programme that addresses the full range of public health activity, and we are keen to learn from other sectors and professional groups who have an integral role to play in improving and protecting our health and in delivering effective health services.
We are particularly keen to receive proposals on: improving healthcare quality, health protection, tools for commissioning, economic policy and health, the Olympics – the public health legacy and violence and alcohol. It will also be an opportunity for Yorkshire and Humber regional members to share good practice.
Our selection process will ensure high quality, innovative and interactive parallel sessions. As last year, there will be a 4-5 parallel sessions running at once and we will support breakfast networking sessions to allow delegates to meet other colleagues and discuss specific topics in an informal setting.
Format
We invite submissions for the following formats:
- Posters. Apart from displaying them, there will be designated time slots to present them so as to enable delegates to share good practice more effectively. There will be a prize for the best poster.
- 20 minute presentation on a specific topic, to be included in one of the parallel stream sessions.
- 90 minute parallel session on a specific topic (can take the form of a symposium or interactive workshop)
Making your submission
Please ensure that you have all the required information to hand before commencing the completion of the abstract submission form. The form must be completed and submitted in one continuous process: it is not possible to complete the form partially and return to it at a later stage.
